Abstract

This study investigates the use of local business numbers among Fortune 500 companies. Local numbers are often associated with accessibility and community engagement, making them a vital tool for businesses aiming to establish a strong regional presence. 

Our research reveals that 33.5% of Fortune 500 companies use local business numbers, highlighting the strategic importance of maintaining local connections even for large corporations.

Methodology

To gather data on the use of local business numbers, we manually visited the websites of 218 Fortune 500 companies (a statistically significant sample size).
