1. Do you charge based on usage (per minute) or do you charge per user?

Our plans are based on usage starting at $9.99/month which includes 500 minutes/month and unlimited users/extensions – see all plans here. You can forward your UniTel Voice phone service to any of your existing phone numbers or devices (cell phone, home phone, office phone, etc.). You may also use the free UniTel Voice mobile app to make and receive calls. If you’d like to add a hosted IP-phone or VoIP softphone to your account you may do so for an additional $9.99/month per employee extension users. In our system, every employee extension is a user.

2. Do you charge extra for toll free numbers?

Many business phone service providers will charge you more to use a toll free number. That isn’t the case with us. You may use a toll free or local number, both are the same low rate for inbound and outbound calling.

3. Do you have any porting fees, activation fees, or cancelation fees?

Nope. It’s free to transfer numbers to us or away from us. There are no activation or setup fees. And you can cancel at any time, everything is month-to-month, no cancelation fees or contracts locking you in.

4. Do you have to sign a long-term contract or do you offer month-to-month plans?

No long-term contracts. Everything is month-to-month.

5. Can I upgrade or downgrade between plans at any time?

Yes absolutely. Our plans are priced and designed to grow with your business.

6. Do you offer a risk-free trial or money back guarantee?

7. Can I port my phone numbers to another provider at any time, at no charge?

Yes, with UniTel Voice you own your number — no strings attached. If you’d like to transfer your number to another provider you may do so at any time, at no charge. Some phone companies “rent” phone numbers to you or hold you hostage with porting fees. Not with us. Your number is your number.

2. Do you offer a mobile app, desktop app, and physical desk phones?

Yes. Our mobile app comes free with every plan and it allows you to both make and receive calls using your data or wifi connection. We also offer softphones (VoIP browser or desktop apps), as well as IP-phones (physical desk phones) for an add-on charge of $9.99/month per user.

3. What features come with each plan or do you offer tiered packages?

All business phone system plans are the same as far as feature go, the only difference is the monthly minutes. If you go over your monthly minutes you may upgrade to a larger plan or simply pay 3.9 cents per additional minute.

4. What features are all-inclusive and what features are add-ons?

All the important business phone system features (greetings, extensions, voicemail, faxing, call forwarding, etc.) come free with every plan. We do offer a list of specialized features à la carte that you can add to any plan at any time. See our features page for a complete list.

5. How easy is it to manage features and make changes to your phone system?

Super easy. You can make changes to your account online, any time. No tech guy required.

6. Are updates free, or part of a service charge?

We’re always working to make our service better and our systems stronger. Software and system updates are always free — you’re never charged for something that you are required to purchase in order to maintain quality service.

Set up takes minutes, but we’re here to answer questions if you need help. We also offer a free concierge service where we’ll meet with you over the phone, help you set up your call routing to meet your business needs, and get you a free professional voice recording for your main greeting and voicemail. These consultations are free for all accounts, big or small.

2. What is the setup process like and how long does it take?

You sign up in three basic steps: pick your plan, choose your number, enter your account info. You then set up in three basic steps: create your main greeting, configure your call forwarding, and activate your voicemail. Both signup and setup usually just takes minutes, but we’re here to help you every step of the way.

3. Can I set things up myself?

Yes. Most of our customers do, but we’re here to help you if you need it at any time. We offer how-to videos, help guides, faqs, as well as real people you can call, email, or chat with online. Our customer support is free and based right here in Naperville, IL.

4. Do I need technical skills to set up my business phone system?

No tech guy required. No tech skills or experience. Our business phone system is designed for busy business owners and if you need help or would even like us to set things up for you, we’ll set you up fast and at no extra charge.
